Eric LeGrand has already underwent emergency surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center. Doctors, some of the most accomplished ones in the field tried to stabilize the spine. LeGrand's spirits were as good as can be expected, and he was cognizant of all of his visitors.

Pitt will try to beat Rutgers this week when the two teams meet at Heinz Field but the Panthers are all rooting for at least one Scarlet Knights player - junior defensive lineman Eric LeGrand who was paralyzed below the neck while making a tackle Saturday in the Scarlet Knights 23-20 overtime win over Army.
The Pitt athletic department has created a banner with the message "Pitt is pulling for Eric LeGrand" and it will hang at the Petersen Events Center, then it will be moved down in the Student Union later in the week.
Pitt's players, students and members of the university community at large are being encouraged to sign the banner and offer words of encouragement and it will then be on display at Heinz Field Saturday for the game near the student section.

Despite his injuries, LeGrand is remaining hopeful and will soon be expected to make healthy progress.
